THE FARTHING CENTRE

 

The Centre is in a modern building with a large hall, workshop, kitchen and toilets. Parking space available – access via Lower Anchor Street and Bradford Street.

 

The main purpose of the Centre is to assist unemployed people of all ages but also provides the opportunity for those wishing to better themselves, at very reasonable cost, with the chance to brush up old skills and learn new ones in modern technology.

 

The Farthing Centre is an OCR approved centre with courses at reasonable cost in:

 

 

WORD PROCESSING

Microsoft Word up to version 2000

(including Medical W/P, Legal T/P, Document Presentation and Mail Merge)

 

 

 

SPREADSHEETS

Microsoft Excel up to version 2000

 

 

DATABASES

Microsoft Access up to version 2000

 

 

DESKTOP PUBLISHING

Microsoft Publisher up to version 2000

 

 

COMPUTERISED ACCOUNTS

Sage Line 50 and Payroll

 

 

MANUAL ACCOUNTS

Up to Trial Balance and Final Accounts

 

 

WOODWORK

Basic woodworking including use of lathe

 

 

Computers are also available for typing out your own CV again at reasonable cost with some assistance available if necessary.

 

Places are available for those with minor learning difficulty.

 

A friendly and helpful place in which to gain or expand knowledge to assist in securing employment.
